Every year, millions of patients undergo vision correcting surgery such as cataract surgery, LASIK, PRK, Refractive Lens Exchange, and ICL surgery with amazing outcomes. There can be rare circumstances when the vision declines after treatment or when optimal outcomes were not achieved that leave patients unsatisfied with their vision.
There can be many reasons for this, such as:
- Uncorrected nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism
- Less-than-optimal choice of intraocular lens
- Untreated dry eyes
Thankfully, there are solutions for these issues. Oftentimes, we can optimize and treat the eyes for dryness. For uncorrected nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism, LASIK or PRK can safely be used to correct this and restore the vision to the patient’s full potential. For patients who are not completely satisfied with their choice of lens implants, these can be removed and replaced with ones that are more optimal and can improve patient’s vision and quality of life.
